Our Winter Wonderland....2013

I wanted to share the pond over at Dina's house...love the waterfall
This is the bubble rock at the top of Dina's water feature...isn't it cool?

The water feature in our back yard...Lacey's dog, Thor walked right on it to get a drink from the bubble rock!

This is our water feature in the front yard...I wonder if Thor could walk on this water??

Today is Monday, December 9 and we are supposed to get some snow...just a little bit.  I am hoping it happens...I love it!

Catching up with Posts and pictures

Auntie Carm, Auntie Elvera, My Dad,

Bernie, Auntie Carm, Me, Auntie Elvera, Bonnie, Carole, Dad

The middle of November my Dad, brother and I went up to the Seattle area for a memorial service.  While in the area we arranged to stop by my Auntie Elvera's assisted living facility.  My cousin Carole was kind enough to drive Auntie Carm so that the two sisters and my dad could see each other.  We had a great time visiting and sharing stories.  Love that family!

Next up is our group shot from our Thanksgiving dinner.  We had the two daughters and their family's, my Dad and Scott's brother John and his wife Robin.  What a great day we had laughing, talking and having lots of good food to eat.  And we celebrated the day at Dina's house!

This picture is quite different from the one last year.  Notice Lacey (far left) and Dina (next to me) both have hair now...it is growing, maybe not as fast as they would like, but at least they have it, right?  And Dina is in great health...all the latest scans came back showing NO signs of cancer!!
I am doing well also.

It's coming together people!  No plants, but just having this done is so wonderful, I feel like we are not in the 'white trash' neighborhood any more!! ha ha.  OH...and the water?  That is just from RAIN...you know our 'LIQUID SUNSHINE" here in Oregon!!  In fact we had to pump some of it out..that is the pipe you see on the left!!

One more fun little picture for you...I have been saving this...it is Scott's "Nana's" wallet that I have had since her death back in 1985 when she was 87...here is what it looks like:
1.  Do something for someone else.
2.  Do something for myself
3.  Do something I don't want to do that needs doing.
4.  Do a physical exercise
 5. Do a mental exercise
 6. Do an original prayer that always includes counting my blessings

I will leave you with those thoughts to ponder...Have a Joyous Day...go out and make it MEMORABLE!!

Anniversary Pictures

I know it has been awhile since I posted...where do the days go?  Some good news, though...Dina had another scan and it came out perfect!  No signs of cancer...so she is doing a Happy Dance and feeling FABULOUS!  We are bursting with JOY with that good news.  I know every time she needs to have another scan, she can't help but be a little nervous and worried...but it is all GOOD!

Scott and I celebrated our 42 anniversary...I know, can you believe it?  We took the girls and SIL's to Bugatti's restaurant down on the highway to celebrate...and we included the 10th anniversary of Lacey and Aaron...the were married two days after our date.
42 years
10 years
14 years this past June

I will keep this short, but sweet...I know hard for me to keep things "short" I have a way of rambling!  But life is good, we are busy.  Go out and make it a great day!

Heart hugs,
Col

K & E WEDDING

My younger brother's son, Kyle was married on Saturday, August 24 to Elisa up in Parkdale, Oregon...which is just above Hood River.  It was a beautiful setting with the orchard behind us and the majestic Mt. Hood so close it seemed we could reach out and touch it!

2013 Another Iacolucci Family reunion

This year we were at cousin Rosemary's house who lives on Lake Tapps in Washington...actually her address is Bonnie Lake, so I always thought it was Bonnie Lake that was the body of water at her back door!  but it isn't, there really is a Bonnie Lake, but it is very small...

It was a smaller gathering than normal for our reunion picnic, but it was so nice to see everyone and to spend time talking to them one on one.  Most do live in the Seattle area, we come from Oregon and actually it was just my older brother, Bernie, his wife and my dad and I that went up this summer.  A cousin came from Idaho but the rest live in the area.  And the picnic is catered by a cousin who has his own catering business...and you can guess what was served!  Pasta...the best ever, with meatballs, and short ribs, raviolis, salad, bread...and then everyone contributes to dessert!

The best part of the day was seeing my Dad's two sisters...and they both came to the reunion.  One is 94, my dad will be 92 in October and his younger sister will be 90 in October!  I love them so much, they are just sweet sweet ladies!

I stayed with Linda for 5 days and one day we took her dad (93) out to breakfast and then on a drive down memory lane.  We went to our old neighborhood (that is where Linda and I became fast friends at the age of 7!)  she lived at the top of 33rd and Graham, I lived at the bottom of 33rd.  We drove to Lake Washington where as young girls we would walk every day during the summer to swim in the lake...well, I swam, Linda didn't so much like the water, so she laid in the sun! I thought it was a looong way to walk, so we clocked it and was surprised to find out it was about 2.4 miles to our homes...seemed a lot further back then, but it was all hill!!  Up and down both ways...

My Grandma and Grandpa Iacolucci's house (they came from Italy)...we lived there for a few years when I was about 5.

The house I lived at until I was 16, my bedroom was the one close to the front door...now it has a fence all around the whole house.

This is the side yard I played flag football with my brothers and in the back is a patio where my BFF (Linda) and I would roller skate for hours.  My mother always had flowers in the center part, here it was just weeds.
Well, that is it for another Iacolucci Family Reunion Picnic.  We have one every year, and maybe not everyone can come every year, but it is so important to keep in touch with family and to stay connected.  That is the best part.  I grew up with my cousins, and remember staying with them for long periods of time in the summer time and it is so nice to stay connected even if it is just once a year.

We all did go see my Mom's sister, Auntie Lorraine while we were up in that area...and she will be 91 in December.  Unfortunately I forgot to take my camera out of my purse and get a picture of all of us together.  But she looks fabulous also, lives alone in her house and takes care of the yard and flowers and garden all herself...I hope I can do half of what she does when I am her age!

Coeur d'Alene, Idaho

We had another fantastic time at Gozzer this summer with the whole family.  Scott and I flew up and Lacey's family picked us up at the airport.  Once we get to the Gozzer property we really don't need a car, and if we want to go across the lake, we can take a shuttle boat across, or just go with a family that is traveling around the lake...it works for us and saves us from driving for 7 hours!

A major change on this property was moving the Outdoor Pursuits to Arrow Point.  It used to be on Squaw Bay and there was a metal slide in the lake and some docks for boats..but nothing like what they have here.  They have this huge inflatable apparatus that has two slides at either end and a huge trampoline in the middle.  The kiddos spent 10 - 14 hours a day in the lake, barely coming out for food!
On the paddle board is little Tristan (4) and to the right is Lacey on a paddle board also.
