Memories from Bend

Dina and her family were planning to spend a couple of days in Bend during the kids Spring Vacation and when Scott found out, he asked if we could 'tag' along!  Nothing like inviting yourself, eh?  However, I had a feeling it was going to turn into a "guys golfing" vacation instead of a 'family vacation' for the Snooks!  And it did, but it turned out okay for everyone.  Dina and I watched the kids swim (well, she had to be in the pool!) play a little miniature golf, play on some outdoor equipment and kick the soccer ball around!  Both nights the kids all went ice skating and that was so much fun.  I personally did not ice skate for fear of hurting my knees even more!  I watched from the sidelines and was even in tears laughing so much!

Jamie was a good sport 'walking' on the ice to keep his two youngest from falling!  Lily was hugging the wall and not having much fun until dad showed up on the scene and helped her get around, then it took no time for her to go out on her own.  Little Jalen, who will be three on May 20 thought it was so much fun to slip and slide on the ice while holding onto dad's hands.

The family picture at the Mexican Restaurant in Bend...good food!!

After lunch at Red Robin in the Old Mill Area, we roamed around and took some shots of the scenery and Dina with the kids.

Jalen was soooo excited to be able to wear some ice skates and get out on the ice.  Notice the 'cute' pink jacket?  We hadn't planned on ice skating at the Sunriver, so he did not have a jacket, but he was able to borrow from his big sister.  And then of course the helmets are a must for safety....Yes we watch a lot of "Dora and Go Diego Go" so we have to be safe!

With Jalen on ice skates it was next to impossible for one person to hold both his hands and keep him upright.  Jamie made it around the rink one time and was exhausted!  So Papa came to the rescue and went out on the ice (without skates) and held his other hand.  That worked so much better, but Jalen was basically being dragged around and he had the biggest grin on his face the whole time!!  We had so much fun with the family and really appreciated them letting us tag along!  We have made more memories to share with you and to keep in our hearts!  Thanks for checking in with us!

  1. Hi everbody, sounded like a great trip to Bend,I really enjoyed the pictures of you all.
Nothing is more valuable than family time spent together, and you are such a lovely family. I hope for more grandkids eventually - they are life's desert for us grandparents.
Love to everybody from Anne Brita!
