I just wanted to post a couple of pictures of the new house "in progress". We have men working outside with the stone and Scott and Joe are working inside with electrical. Sorry I have a sun spot right in the middle -- but at least we have the SUN!! We got the framing inspection approved today, so now we can finish up the wiring and get that inspected. Then we get to have it insulated and then finally....the long awaited sheet rock!!! You know what that means??? The walls will be up and we can actually see each room...isn't that exciting? And the best, it means we are getting closer to the end. But you all know it is still going to be four or five months, right? After all it is just Scott and Joe working on this project. I do know that he is having someone come in and spray on the foam insulation and he is also having someone hang all the sheet rock. But the finish detail work is going to take some time. We have had one person, someone who actually went to high school with us, in Marty's class, who is a Master Craftsman. He is building all our cabinets in his shop. We are so excited about this project and I will be so happy to be living in the new house. Not only do I have the HUGE and I am talking humongous kitchen (now I am wondering why I chose to go so big, does that mean I have to keep doing the cooking for the whole family? what was I thinking??) but I am going to have my own craft room, right off the kitchen (that means I can "create" and then step into the kitchen and stir the pot and then go back to my creating!! I am just really excited about that.

I have several passions right now. First would be making my own cards that I send out to friends, some of you may have received my handcrafted cards! Then I have taken up knitting after quite a few years off. My main project (other than hats for the kids and scarves for me - I think I have one of every color hanging in the entry!) is Prayer Shawls that I knit for my ministry at church. It seems I end up mailing them off to people I know or who request them from me, they never quite make it to the church. But that is okay, they are going to the people who need them. I have had the most wonderful experience giving these away, I have sent them to people in Ohio, Chicago, Arizona and then here locally. If you don't know about them, the Prayer Shawl has been around for generations and they are for people who are sick or who have had a death in the family, someone who needs to feel the loving arms of our Lord embracing them. The shawl represents the arms of the Lord wrapped around the person giving comfort, strength and warmth. To begin the shawl, I ask the Lord to guide my fingers as I knit the stitches and I say the Lord's prayer throughout the knitting of the shawl. So if you, dear friends and family are in need, please let me know and I will get one to you - it takes me a couple of weeks to finish one, so give me some notice!!

I will post a couple of pictures for you to see what I am working on. Thank you for stopping by and reading about things in the Foelker house! I will keep posting new pictures and I am just waiting for the day when the house is done and I can post a "finished" picture!!
